Tales from the Work Place.....

We have just lost two of our *cough* most valued work placements to date.

I just thought I'd share their brilliant plans of action with everyone out there on the internet!

First of all WP1 told us that he has decided to open a business up. At first we played along, he could possibly get money for a small business, so why not?

He told us that he was going to open the Derry's department store that has been closed for a year or so now again, rename it Ragamuffins and pay his employees £10/hour.

The man in question is a scruffy miserable sort who for all the 8 weeks he was with us had a green tinge on his face.

He doesn't have any business partners and seems to think it would all just work for him....

So that is WP1.

WP2 made us laugh with his ever changing story.

He apparently had a job in a nursing home. Just he had to have the interview on Wednesday, but he was the only male who worked for them, even though he doesn't have the job yet.

He doesn't need to send a CRB check to the nursing home because the person who is doing his NVQ is going to send his old one to them... When told he can't do that he accused everyone of lying to him (them not us.)

He then told us he'd be working full time... 30 hours. When we pointed out 30 hours isn't full time he said that the matron keeps changing his hours. He then said his hours would be 4 nights of 10 hours each then some day shifts, which already takes him over 30 hours anyway.

He then said he already had the uniform from another job, though as Jeannette's daughter is in caring, she knows you have to give the uniform back at the end of the job. But he had no reason why he'd have the uniform.

It was a fun day my last day with them, and I hope that both their dreams come true.... For some reason I don't think they will!

Les Misérables

On Wednesday I went to see Les Mis in the cinema.

Unfortunately I had terrible seats so that I ended up with a headache half way through as I was craning my neck up to see the screen (a combination of stupid taxi drivers and the fact my mum thought we had to line up until my cousin went and asked and we were told they were already let in.

But my tentative review is below...

The Hunger Games : Book Series

I just finished reading the Hunger Games trilogy  it only took me three days (a book each day) so I thought I'd leave my review of it on here.

There will be another blog later about such things as how I hope the films tackle such and such and all that but this is just my review of the book series.

The actual Hunger Games are an annual tournament involving teenagers aged 12-18, they get picked, one boy and one girl, from each of the 12 Districts and sent to the Capitol to compete. After a few weeks of training they get put into the arena (a new one every year) to kill each other. There can only be one winner.

Once Upon a Time : Fail (but brilliant show)

So I love Once Upon a Time, it is a brilliant show. I love it, I love the characters, I love the stories and I love the feel of the whole thing.

I started writing this blog thinking I'd wrote a blog on here about it before now, looking quickly back I don't think I have, so this blog is incorporating a part review with a part rant!

The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey

Since it has been released I have seen the first part of The Hobbit trilogy twice. There is also a good chance I'll be going to see it on Wednesday again as well.

So my thoughts on Peter Jackson's newest vision from Middle Earth?

Celebs v Everyone else

OK so let me explain the title.

Basically the blog is my opinion on something that really annoys me. It probably only annoys me because I'm online, but basically its to do with how people treat celebs differently because they are celebs.

I don't mean the worshiping etc, I mean when something bad happens how they are quick to jump to their defense, whereas if their next door neighbor was accused of the same thing they possibly wouldn't be so quick to jump to their defense at all.

Goodbye 2012 hello 2013!

So it is now officially 2013.

I have to say that 2012 went quite fast. It felt like only yesterday that I was in London for TNA. Actually that was nearly a whole year ago now!

So a favourite memory from the last 12 months?

Well it has been a quiet one so meeting the stars of TNA must rank up there, plus spending 3 days with my mum and getting to go to the Natural History Museum ranks highly.

Finding Fairy Tail is a high point of the year. Sounds stupid, but I'm not a people's person and I don't like going out much so finding a show that touched me like Fairy Tail is a big plus.

The Hobbit is probably my film of the year even though I have seen so many, Frankenweenie was a close second though, and there has been a great deal of really good movies.

I managed to miss all the Olympics hype other then the flame passing by in Plymouth.

A wonderful trip to Bath as well as some fun trips to Torquay, Paignton and Tavistock.

Hell the year hasn't been that quiet its just gone in a flash!

So what do I hope for 2013?

Well I'm going to Stars of Time and a Sci-Fi day, so hopefully I'll get my first cosplay sorted out. Also Stars of Time is going to have Chris Barrie so I get to meet Rimmer hopefully!

If 2013 is half as good as 2012 I'll be happy.

My big wish is for Simon to be fired or just leave and never come back. That is all.

The "pain" of Doctor Who fans

So today if you went onto certain Doctor Who forums you'd be forgiven for believing that Steven Moffat has walked into a handful of fans homes, stolen their Christmas trees and shot their dog...

He hasn't. Possibly wouldn't stop them saying he did.

Whats it all about?

As normal patheticness that only fans could come up with!

The Lorax

So The Lorax has came out on DVD, I really wanted to see it in the cinema but with the release of so many films in such a short period of time our cinema kind of didn't show it at times me and my boyfriend could go and watch it, it ended up being shown for a week or so then being demoted to Kids AM for the rest of its run (and that is only on Saturdays I believe.)

So the moment it came out on DVD I brought it....

Geekmind Forum

So yeah as I've probably said before, me and my friends have a Geek forum. We'd really appreciate if anyone wanted to join in any new members!

Fairy Tail : Eclipse plan...

I have finally finished catching up on both the anime and manga of Fairy Tail and below is a quick round up of my feelings of what has came and what is yet to come....

Sword Art Online

OK so I am just about up to date with Sword Art Online (SAO) I just need to watch the new episode that should be online by now.

The customer is always right?

It really gets on my nerves when people say that. Especially when they are saying it and there is no way what they say will ever be "right" as it is against what our shop does!

Magi (anime)

Ok so I have seen the first episode of an anime called Magi. It is about a kid called Aladdin and a slightly older guy called Alibaba.

I am in two minds about this one.

In the pros :
It is quite sweet
It is well drawn
Very funny
Seems to have a good story

In the cons :
I know this possibly is a running theme in anime full stop but the boob gags did my head in a bit and as most people who know me knows I can really be put off something because in my mind it's semi-perverted!

I'm gonna catch up on the other 3 episodes tomorrow then make my mind up. Next up is Art Sword Online!

DWM 451 : Battle of wits Should Companions Die?

Alright so I'm late with this but I thought I'd do it now whilst watching some anime.

In DWM 451 they were discussing whether or not a companion should die. Johnny was against death with the tag line "The companion in Doctor Who is in danger of far more horrific threats then just mere death" whilst Toby was for death with the tag line "Adric went from waddling, one-note irritant to misunderstood, tragic her in one fell swoop."

My thoughts....

Fairy Tail Overview

So I have caught up with Fairy Tail. It isn't over by far! But I'll be watching the adventures every week like everyone else.

So now that I am up to date I thought I'd give a general over view of the anime (I am only like book 60 in the manga.)
