The "pain" of Doctor Who fans

So today if you went onto certain Doctor Who forums you'd be forgiven for believing that Steven Moffat has walked into a handful of fans homes, stolen their Christmas trees and shot their dog...

He hasn't. Possibly wouldn't stop them saying he did.

Whats it all about?

As normal patheticness that only fans could come up with!

So today with the arrival of the new DWM it seems it has been confirmed that the 50th anniversary special will be recorded in April.

This has sent fans into a spiral of disgusting comments seperated into two different things (though one fan manages to combine his hatred for Moffat by using both points simultaniously.)

First off, if they start filming in April this means a good chunk of Doctor Who personalities including most of the remaining classic Who Doctors will all be in Australia on a Big Finish tour.

Now certain fans have decided that means that Moffat will not be including any of the classic Doctors in his special. Baring in mind we don't know WHEN in April it'll be filming, saying early April with this lot could actually mean starting in May but the cameras were on set on the last day of April.

Somehow when people used logic to try and calm the poster down he then started moaning that it is obvious that Moffat will only give them small parts and it'll all be about Eleven... To which I can't understand why it wouldn't be!

That is the minor disagreement which seems to have been lost a bit at the moment. The main problem seems to be...

Now its obvious that we are only ever going to get series 7B, one anniversary special and a Christmas special in 2013.

Now I'm not saying this is untrue, we might only get that (plus a docudrama) but then again no one has actually said it. The only proof to it being true is the fact no one has said it ISN'T all we'll get.

They've gone from just downright being rude and disrespectful towards Moffat, to piecing tiny bits of information they've had all through the year from different people to "prove" their point.

After a whole afternoon of just laughing at their hissy fits I've decided to write this blog just because...... Yeah. I couldn't possibly say anything on the forum as I'd probably just lose my temper so I'll say it here.

For a start CALM THE HELL DOWN PEOPLE!

Yeah I want to have every living Doctor in the anniversary, I also want the first 3 to appear in some way or form (just not re-casted.) If I don't get a multi-Doctor story will I think I've been short changed? Will I think Moffat has done it for his ego?

No!

And why not?

Because its up to Moff to tell us a brilliant story whether multi-Doctor or not. I'd love to see all the old Doctors but that very forum also has a very great many fans who don't want to see it. So I doubt something that doesn't incorporate all the living Doctors or villains from the classic series or name check A,B or C will flop so badly because those bits weren't included.

This doesn't make Moffat a evil person letting down fans of the show, it means he probably couldn't think of a good enough way, or possibly like some people on the forum doesn't like the idea in the first place, and so he came up with something better. Just because its the 50th doesn't mean the story, as much as most people would like it too happen, has to have multi-Doctors and the rest.

I also doubt that Moff would have scheduled the filming specifically for a time when the classic Doctors couldn't do it, they'd have sorted out the premise of the story and would have talked to all those who are involved. We could still get all the Doctors in some way. Until we see it or it starts to be filmed, or there is an announcement we just don't know!

As for whether Matt will be the main focus or not.

Well why the hell not? He is the current Doctor, it is his story being told. Yes it is being made to celebrate the 50th anniversary but the story will start and end with Matt. It'll be Elevens problem being solved by the others but at the heart of it it'll be Matt.

So that is that.

As for the doom mongering (and I call it that because other people have decided this proves the show will be cancelled or that we'll only get 5,6 or 7 episodes every year from now on) I was just lost for words most of today!
