Pupa : Tadpole

Episode 5

I'm slightly happier that the plot seems to be moving on and we are getting answers to questions I wouldn't think would be touched so soon.

Just let us forget episode 3 happened... Which won't be hard seeing it doesn't seem to be bloody relevant at all!

***SPOILERS***

Another wild tangent...

So, Yume was always a monster?

In a way you could say her mother was depressed, but I think it goes further then that because it looks like she did try and kill Yume and Yume was still alive. So Yume has always had this virus? Or is she something else in general? Maybe the butterflies set her off on one?

Not sure whether I liked having the mother in hospital asking her husband to hit her one last time.

Anyway are they present time? Are the parents coming back? Or is that the past describing the further off past?

This is the one thing that annoys me, it isn't shocking and loses a lot of drama because these things just happen, and one or two beats in the story are missed because they are squeezing them in.

This wild tangent isn't as bad as episode 3. Even if it wasn't as bad it is starting to become very difficult to figure out where we are and what we are meant to feel at this point.

I really don't know what they wanted us to get out of this, surely it would be more shocking if we'd seen more of Yume as a normal girl before she turned, or even seen her trying to live a normal life afterwards before we are told "well... She was pretty much like this forevers anyway."

Might be an explanation if the parents aren't returning and this was a flashback to where the mother went though.

I just really don't know. So much potential not being achieved. Such a shame.
