WataMote : Since I'm Not Popular, Summer is Ending

Lament 9

A failed visit from a younger cousin later and Summer break is nearly at an end!

Lets hope something better happens for Tomoko!

***SPOILERS***
Sitting staring at the computer screen late at night, 10 days of holiday left but tomorrow we have a film day with Yuu!

Well.... She did. Now it seems that Yuu has to go and work for her uncle for a few days. Poor Tomoko.

The day after tomorrow she goes to the café to get a piece of cake that Yuu promised her. Watching Yuu work makes Tomoko decide she wants to work at a trendy place. I think her question to her mum wasn't the right one she asks if she knows someone who makes cakes whilst she actually wants to be a waitress.

And after a night of coming up with a load of fantasies based on working in a kitchen or as a waitress..... She ends up working in a factory making cakes.

Back to lazing about?

She's right, it has been eventful for her that is for sure!

Then her mother makes her clean the bathroom after leaving her job after one day.

Her mum has turned into a mega bitch for some reason!

She gets told to go and tidy up a room with loads of old toys and stuff and find a box of bugs that her and Tomoki had collected as little kids. She then gets made to feel guilty after having a go at Tomoki earlier by reading something he wrote about her when he was a kid.

All alone Tomoko sits in a park looking at the stars waiting for a meteor shower.

She wishes for a boy to look at the stars with her and gets a boy cat.

Now I do feel sorry for her, the whole cake thing was a simple mistake but her mum has been really nasty the last two episodes for very little reason as well. OK Tomoko isn't the easiest of people to understand but... It hasn't been nice.

I like that the Summer Break episodes have shown us a little of the relationship Tomoko had with Tomoki but also the relationship she has with someone younger. It has been a nice change of pace.

This was a pretty simple episode, I felt sorry for Tomoko who was looking forward to going out with Yuu, to be fair on her she probably would have been a lot happier with helping her mum if she had gone to the movies. It is the hard thing, her mum doesn't understand what is going on in her head so when she's complaining about doing something first off it is what teenagers do and secondly it is usually in the middle of Tomoko feeling sorry for herself.

I'll be happy when we go back to school though!

I could see the whole work thing going wrong a mile off! It was all in the wording, I'm sure if she asked her mum to help her get a job in a restaurant she'd have got the message.

Nothing ever seems to go right for her does it?

Good episode, not as good as the first in the Summer Break but better than the last one.

School is coming though!
