Chapter 57
So we finally find out why Zeff is so important to Sanji....
What is in their past?!
****SPOILERS***
I love Zeffs flag! That is pretty cool, plus Zeff from the past is awesome!
Well even when Zeff is raiding a ship he refuses to let his crew touch anyone else's food, and to be honest food is the most important thing. Lose your treasure or whatever but have nothing to eat and you'll probably be dead.
Sanji decides fight and comes out with two knives.
Zeff doesn't hold back on the kid but when the storm gets bad and Sanji falls overboard Zeff doesn't think twice about jumping in with him.
Two days later and Sanji wakes to find out that they are all alone on a island that is just sheer cliffs on both sides and he's there with no food with Zeff. He gets told that his boat has probably been destroyed and that Zeff knows that his has definitely been destroyed.
So they have a sack full of food each and Zeff leaves Sanji on one side of the island whilst he settled down on the other and for some reason Zeff cut off one of his legs. Don't know why yet.
That is pretty sweet and sad.
I mean Zeff didn't even think he just jumped in, yes he's just a normal pirate under it all but he'd never leave his victims to starve to death and he didn't really just let Sanji die just because he was going to fight them. I quite like that.
The stuff on the island made me pretty sad because I knew the leg bit was coming. It was pretty emotional seeing him putting Sanji's mind to rest (a little) by making him toughen up. I don't think he wanted any harm to happen to him even if he is a miserable git!
I don't like that Sanji blames himself about it though, even if Sanji did something directly to injure the leg at the end of the day things could have been so much different but because Sanji fell into the water it kind of saved Zeff because they are the two ended up on that island/rock/thing.
We still have another chapter though of this flashback me thinks, just the small ending and the last question answered, why did he chop his leg off?
You can see from this chapter why Sanji has become the way he has, to be honest even if they aren't related it very much is a father/son type relationship there.
I liked it, another wonderful back story just this one is a real piratey one just like Luffy's!
So far each of the back stories have been wonderful and this one is no different it really makes you love the characters even more!
