Gin no Saji : Hachiken bakes pizza

Episode 4

We met Pork Bowl last week, the runt of the litter!

We also found out that hardship facing most of the students, the fact they have to come to terms with killing the animals they are working with.

Pretty touching stuff!

***SPOILERS***

Midterms are handed back, he gets a 95 in his livestock form, but the rest of his team all have 100. Hachiken is still top student though but he isn't satisfied with that.

All the first years are walking funny in the Equestrian club, Nishikawa then comes rolling in on a tractor and offers Hachiken a ride. They go to get some straw for the club and it is safe to say that Hachiken is enjoying himself. We learn that the Ezonoo is totally self sufficient and that if they ask a teacher they'll probably be allowed to try their hands at anything.

Next day and it is campus clean up. Whilst cleaning up Hachiken finds a outside oven and whilst looking what the can cook in it he finds out that he could make pizza which sends everyone into a crazy! He gets volunteered to make a pizza, turns out that none of the students have actually EATEN pizza properly. So off he goes to learn about making pizza and using the oven.

After talking to his room mates he goes on a scavenging hunt for people who can give him the ingredients he needs to make his pizza. In the end everyone helps out to get the oven in working condition, but whilst looking for his last ingredient (bacon) he see's Pork Bowl being weighed. He is asked the most conflicting question of all, when the time comes will he be able to eat Pork Bowl.

Everything is ready and everyone is waiting including the teachers. Plus Hachiken's old teacher.

Everyone has helped make the pizza, the ingredients came from all the clubs, clubs helped make the oven and provide fire work and others helped make the dough and the pizza's and the end result was happiness for everyone!

Awww how sweet!

I like how the whole school kind of bandied together, and it was pretty sad thinking that some of them had never had pizza before!

Seeing them all working together and Hachiken finally getting into the swing of things was nice though, it seems that he really will blossom working here!

Am I the only person who loves Tamako's brother? He is such a sweet character he seems to know exactly what Hachiken is thinking and doing his best to help him get his mind around what he has to do.

Anyway I liked the episode, it was nice seeing them make something out of all the things around them, I was wondering where the episode was going with a name like that but it actually ended up being real fun!

It is hard work making something from scratch and I guess working on it would make it better, and not only that they had fresh ingredients as well!

I do like how his old teacher came to see how he was getting on, and came at a great time to see how Hachiken is really starting to grow into his team.

The episode was just really a happy episode and I enjoyed seeing everyone work together! Though the one that wants to be a vet wasn't in it very much and I had to laugh at Tamako talking to the teachers about making this an event and inviting people from the local community to make money.

I still think the major story will revolve around Pork Bowl. Poor thing being weighed. Three months and he'll be bacon!
