Chapter 20
Nami wasn't doing a very good thieving job was she as she was caught red handed by Buggy!
Can she survive his attack? Or will Luffy (that horrible, mean pirate who she's been using all this time) save the day?
***SPOILERS***
So the top half of Buggy is flying for Nami leaving his bottom half standing helplessly in front of Luffy.
His rather personal "treasure" got a good kicking...
Luffy gives Nami good advice and she ignores it "why should I put MY treasure down?" well aren't you SOOOO much better than the pirate trying to kill you for his treasure that you've stolen? Whether it is from a pirate or not lets face it that is a piratey attitude.
Buggy totally disasembles himself and flies after Nami but his feet can't fly so Luffy once more gets his hands on him. Nami tries to help by hitting him with the treasure but Buggy's hands grab for it and stop it, just perfectly for Luffy to punch the treasure right into his face.
So now Luffy has the map! Woohoo the map! And when Buggy tries to pull himself (literally) together there is one piece missing. His whole torso is pinned to the ground. He gets a Rubber bazooka for his trouble. I am guessing that means Buggy has been defeated!
To be honest this chapter shows the one piece of Nami I can't understand and don't like. I've come across the "I was wronged by a bad guy before so it doesn't matter if I do bad things to bad guys" theme before and have never understood how the character never learns that two wrongs don't make a right. If she was giving the money back to people that have been damaged by Buggy's crew fair enough (Robin Hood) but stealing from someone is ALWAYS bad no matter who that person is.
Like if she started stealing from Shanks. Shanks is a wonderful man, maybe a little bit of a grey area in his activities but what makes Shanks, a nice man, any worse than Nami the thief?
It does bug me a lot.
I like the team work though, nice to see that they both had to work together to defeat him and even then we got the funny bit of him without his torso. Ohhh how I laughed!
He got what he deserved!
And Luffy has the map.
He also dedicated one of the punches to the chief, good on ya Luffy boy!
If Buggy is defeated I wonder what is next for Luffy, Zoro and hopefully Nami?
