One Piece : Devils Fruit

Chapter 19

So Buggy and Luffy are standing about making each other angry. Neither one really has the upper hand so who will win in the fight against the Chop-Chop clown and the Gum-Gum Straw hat.

***SPOILERS***

So Luffy's hat has been.... Slashed to near enough pieces.

Nami finally decides to steal the treasure and we get to visit the village shelter where the villagers have decided to come and check on Boodle (remember Luffy knocked him out before the fight began.) Yay for the villagers deciding to stand up for their chief!

Back to Buggy and he's finally gonna tell us the story of him and Shanks. They used to fight a lot on the ship, suddenly they went to plunder a ship. The differences between the two of them are there to see, Shanks is a nice guy, Buggy not so nice.

Buggy finds a treasure map, he keeps it quiet from the rest of the crew who have brought back a devils fruit. Whilst talking to Shanks Buggy decides to swap the devils fruit and sell it but pretend to eat it so no one wonders where it is, whilst he is celebrating Shanks sneaks up on him so he puts the fruit in his mouth, and after another scare from Shanks he swallows the fruit, loses the map and realizes he can't swim (if you consume devils fruit you'll never be able to swim.) Not only that but Shanks then saved his life.

So Buggy has made it his duty to plunder on land. He suddenly starts talking about people touching his treasure and we realize he's spotted Nami stealing from him. Ohh no!

Well first off the story of Buggy was sad in its own rights, I won't let anyone take that away from the poor Clown. Going from being uber rich to poor and not able to swim, tear jerker material!

That mean and nasty.... Who am I kidding I love Shanks just as much!

Seriously though I really did like the story of them two, its like a certain two boys in Fairy Tail... Total opposite yet somehow attracted to each other, if anything I'm now even more certain that Buggy needs to come back later, this time against Shanks. Man would that make me happy!

But now Luffy will need to save Nami, is that going to be enough for her to join him?

If she can't see by the end of this story that not all pirates are the same then I worry for her because it is now as plain as the nose on her face that Luffy and Buggy are polar opposites, and we as an audience know he's also different from Shanks (and so is Luffy to an extent.)

I do love just how different every character is, it isn't even like they've stereotyped crew members to be the exact same as their captain, all the pirates are uniquely themselves. So far.

I do look forward to what happens after they defeat Buggy, in fact I'm just really looking forward to finding out how the hell he does it!
