One Piece : Klahador the Butler

Chapter 34

So Kuro is becoming threatening, Buchi has turned into a zombie super powered cat and we are trying to wake up Luffy.

Good luck with that!

***SPOILERS***

So Nami steps on Luffy's face trying to back away from Django's blade...

It wakes Luffy up!

So Luffy gets the blade in the back of the head, and that doesn't get stopped by his rubberness. Everyone looks scared witless and so they should be!

I like the line "Treasure shouldn't matter..." that's just your character!!! Nami does care.

So whilst Django rounds up the troops to defeat Luffy and Zoro, Kaya shows up demanding Kuro to stop. Plus I find out that Mari is a man, I still think he looks like he'd be related to Mohji. Turns out Kuro isn't just interested in the money he wants to live on in the village so bargaining with him isn't going to help. She pulls a pistol on him and he bloody deserves it!

Well what a bastard? After upsetting Kaya before he turns to kill her Usopp attacks and misses but thankfully when it looked like Usopp was about to become a goner Luffy hit Kuro. Thank gods!

So yes Luffy woke up just in time and now Kuro has made him angry!

I really feel so sorry for Kaya, she never asked for him to look after her, obviously he did it for his own evil gains but to rub it in before he tries to kill her? The poor girl felt bad enough as it is! I can't wait to see him get what is coming to him!

And poor Usopp! As ugly as he is he is just a lovely character, I love him and Kaya and everything he's done for her. They are finding bravery in each other and the village. They are adorable.

Now we get to see Kuro get his butt kicked? Bring it on! Though does this mean that Zoro loses out on another fight? I mean why would Django or Buchi carry on fighting when their captain is in trouble? If Kuro loses then the threat of death is lifted and they can just run off without him surely? For such a bastard of a captain who left them for three years just to threaten them when he underestimates other people in his plan why would they bother to listen to him if he's getting his butt kicked?

Still Kuro is getting slightly more interesting but he just doesn't have a character, you can be the strong silent type and have a character, Kuro really doesn't. He is getting slightly better though.

I guess now he's showing his true character we would like him slightly better.

Anyway I'm just excited for what is happening next. Fighting! Luffy! Go go team Luffy!

I liked the chapter mainly because it played on the heartstrings and worked brilliantly, Kaya is such a sweet character and as we've been told she's really ill and really weak seeing Kuro act the way he is when she's being strong is just nasty. I want him gone!

I think the story wouldn't work quite as well if we didn't just instantly love Usopp and Kaya so I'd be interested to hear from people that read this and didn't like either of the characters. How well did this arc go for you? Did you find Kuro more interesting than I have?

I am still very happy with just how different yet similar each of the crews entrance stories have been!
