One Piece : 800 Lies

Chapter 25

So Usopp is the son of a pirate, he tells Kaya stories about him being a pirate to cheer the girl up and he's just punched the gittish Klahador.

Lets hope he doesn't get in too much trouble!

***SPOILERS***

Usopp stops at Kaya's request and leaves promising never to come back again. This enrages his crew, and also seems to have touched Luffy.

Turns out that Kaya's parents saved Klahador and that is why he's over protective of her.

Luffy has gone after Usopp leaving Zoro and Nami with Usopps crew, suddenly the small one comes running up saying there is a weird guy walking backwards........ Yep there is a weird man walking backwards towards them. Hypnotist Django. The guy puts the kids and himself to sleep... Not a good hypnotist?

Luffy finds Usopp at the shore and surprises him by saying he knew his father Yasopp, turns out Yasopp was one of Shanks men. Telling Usopp about his father has done enough to cheer him up when suddenly Klahador shows up on the shore with the hypnotist talking about assassinating Kaya!

This will sound horrible but thank goodness Klahadore is a bad guy! I was worried that we'd have to leave Kaya with him but now I doubt Luffy will let him stay. YAY Usopp will get revenge! (Hopefully!)

I really feel bad for Usopp and am so happy that Luffy was able to cheer him up, he was doing a lovely thing and suddenly he's treated like dirt and why? Because it turns out that he was in the way of some evil deed. Poor Kaya!

The chapter was alright, a little slow but useful for its own thing. We get a little background on Usopp and a great character moment (we saw his feelings hurt, how he listened to someone he cared for and how when he was hurt he turned his back on it and left before he hurt his friends feelings any more) and just a lovely scene with him and Luffy.

You can just see they'll get on together so well!

And now we know where we are going. There is an assassination attempt and now Luffy knows of it he'll stop it (I hope.)

It is all starting to get exciting again isn't it?

I did like the chapter, it kind of got us in the mood for what is to come. I know I keep coming back to him but Usopp is really stealing these chapters, with Zoro he was tied up and not much help till the end, he made an instant impression on me but it wasn't the same. Nami again made an instant impression on you but she used Luffy to get what she wanted. Usopp is much more in charge of these chapters, his personality, his way of life, his friend, his problem.

He has a weakness, he did resort to violence first but he also has many strengths that we are already seeing right now.

In fact comparing him to the other two I just adore how different all their introductions have been, it has really made them so real right away. And no other character steals anything from their introduction stories.

Yeah. Great fun. Great story. Happy.
