Free! : Shocking No Breathing!

Episode 6

All I have to say is SOMEONE PLEASE SAVE REI!

***SPOILERS***

We basically get a reminder of what happened at the end of episode 5 which was Rei getting stuck in the ocean in the storm and Mako going to save him. Don't die either of you!

Haru hears Mako's shout and wakes up, he see's that they both have gone and looking out to sea only just see's the two of them struggling in the water. Mako sees Rei pretty much about to drown and stops all of a sudden, Haru gets Mako and Nagisa goes to save Rei but gets swamped by a wave.

At first only Haru and Mako make it out and Mako doesn't look like he's breathing, well he has a heart beat and isn't hurt. Whilst Haru is worrying about Mako and about to give him the breath of life we still haven't seen the other two get out of the water yet. Turns out that they didn't actually make it back to the island they were staying on anyway, Rei and Nagisa are on another island safe and sound thankfully.

Reunited and happy thankfully! Rei is obviously feeling guilty but so is Mako for not being able to save Rei. Nagisa makes sure everyone is alright and not blaming anyone else. They find a rest house and go inside, I still want to know what is up with Mako.

Nagisa is so adorable, they act like it is a haunted house and start creeping themselves out. They play rock, paper, scissors to find out who will open the fridge and freak each other out... It ends up being empty but they do find mackerel and pineapple.

They play story games, Rei has to tell a embarrassing story he left his underwear in a bathroom and his teacher gave them to him in front of his whole class, Haru has to tell a love story and tells them about falling in love with a waterfall. Then Nagisa does a penguin imitation...

Rei then brings up the elephant in the room and Haru shouts him down for it but it seems Haru is willing to tell us the story. He met a old fisherman when on holiday and later the fisherman got him some goldfish, later he died after his boat was sunk.

After the story ends the rain ends too. They go outside and Rei tells them about the constellations (what is it with Haru and mackerel?) In the morning they all swim back, Rin runs past and sees them all in the water.

This episode was so sweet! I'm so happy everyone was safe and sound and they got not only to bond over embarrassing stories but to see such a wonderful sight as the stars reflecting in the water on top of the rest house.

I feel sorry for Rei who seems to be being picked on a tiny little bit by everyone, never mind he's still wonderful. I'm happy they didn't all start blaming him or arguing, I quite like that they are all cheery and optimistic and just enjoy being with each other. They were more scared that they were in danger then angry over what happened. And to be fair Rei was only trying to help!

The story about Mako and the fisherman had me nearly in tears (ok I was crying but I have been all day I've had an allergic reaction to something) it was one of the saddest things I've heard! I love goldfish... I don't blame him for keeping their grave even now after all it is more like the only grave the fisherman will ever get.

And Haru and Mako have been friends a very long time!

I liked how we got to see all the boys together, I can't wait for the inevitable situation of Rin spending time with them. They do seem quite a group! And Haru has character! Even if it is a bit weird. I'm happy we don't just see him sulking all the time, it was very difficult to like a character who was just po-faced and nasty, now he's just silent and one track minded and it makes me laugh.

Mackerel is horrible, sorry Haru but it is!

These episodes don't seem half as long as they actually are which is a great sign, I can't wait to see them in their first competitive competition, especially my Rei-chan!
