Mawaru Penguindrum : Tamahomare Girl

Episode 7

Things are getting serious. We have found out all about Ringo's sister and how she's following in her sisters footsteps as laid out by her sisters diary to bring her family and Tabuki's happiness.

Not only that but there is a sinister women with a sinister penguin on the loose!

Anything can happen in Penguindrum!

***SPOILER***

Ringo is still living under Tabuki's house, but Shou is with her for some reason. He asks what the M in Project M stands for whilst Number 2 attacks a army of cockroaches. Tabuki asks Ringo to come to see the show that his girlfriend is in and Ringo takes it the wrong way but goes along anyway.

Yuri looks magnificent in a sparkly pink dress, again I just adore the animation in this, the whole crowd is these little white fire exit type people and yet Yuri is sparkling on stage. Tabuki starts to cry and we get a whole song sang by Yuri. It isn't too bad either! But I don't like her still poor Ringo. It seems she's playing Marie Antoinette, well we probably knew that I've probably even write it down before but I thought I'd add it.

After the show he asks Ringo to go to dinner with him but he actually meant to come to dinner with him and Yuri who arrives sparkling still. Ringo doesn't trust her but she seems true enough... And Ringo's daydreams are just so funny! She gets invited to a party and Yuri thinks that Shou is her boyfriend. For some reason Shou is still in his school gear whereas everyone else is dressed smartly. I say everyone I mean Ringo and Yuri. It turns out that she is making a big announcement, she's getting married to Tabuki! Poor Ringo!

This isn't the end of Project M though so Shou still doesn't get the diary.

Kanba is met once more by the mystery man and whats her face from the last episode is watching him. Again talking about Project M.

Ringo takes Shou to her school where she does a love spell with a frog. She needs Shou as the frog needs to spawn on a sixteen year olds back. She uses Himari to force him into it. These two make such a cute couple!  If only she forgot about Tabuki she'd be so happy with Shou and she'd have a mini family with Himari and Shou! And Number Two eats her egg after all that!

Back at the house and Himari calls for a Survival Strategy. YAY Himari finally makes an appearance. Kanba  decides to do things his way and she calls Shou Furniture #2. "I want you to get Ringo into Tabuki's pants!"

Back in her makeshift house under Tabuki's apartment and Ringo is still determined that fate is on her side. Once again back in the pop up day dream and Yuri interrupts Ringo making a plea for Tabuki, what the hell does Fabulous Max mean? "You should have born him an heir" M=Maternity.... Yes she sneaks into the apartment, into his bedroom... And the episode ends.

Will she go through with this plan? Tune in next week!

I love how Ringo out of left wing is actually the main character, she's the main focus once more as we learn even more about her version of Project M.

Again I feel so sorry for her, if she wasn't so caught up in Project M and chasing a man she doesn't really love she could find so much happiness with Shou. I really believe that with the bottom of my heart as well. Fate isn't being kind to poor Ringo! Though then again it was Project M that introduced her to Shou so without it she'd never meet him anyway.

The episode was so funny! As I said I find Ringo's visions so funny, the killer whale attacking the seal with Mr Tabuki's face, the pop up stories following the Princess Ringo. I don't like how she thinks she HAS to be with Tabuki for the sake of her family. I'm not sure about Yuri whether she is being mean to Ringo or whether she thinks Ringo is like a sister to Tabuki and believes if she's nice to her and brings her in on their life then she'll be happy for them. Its hard for me to tell.

Hardly any of this episode had anything to do with Shou, Kanba and Himari and no mysteries were touched upon but that doesn't stop the episode being brilliant in its own right. It was a very funny story to tell and I feel we are getting close to Ringo giving up and giving Shou the diary. I'd like to see more of Ringo with the family and maybe realizing that she has friends she doesn't need this fate anymore.

I am wondering what Kanba is up to and why he doesn't just get all the money he needs to buy the house from his uncle in one go instead of paying him some sort of rent. Surely whatever he's up to its best just to do one big thing then get into trouble?

I did miss Himari a little this episode but not terribly much, her interaction with Ringo is cute but as this just flashed between events I can see why she was left out. If I'm not mistaken there is a story about Himari coming up so I'll see her again soon.

Still the series gets stronger by the episode, can't wait to episode 8!
