The Fairies are fighting back. In an explosive chapter last week they finally got a one up on the Demons. This week should see Fairies and Demons collide...
Then again more importantly, Natsu faces Zeref. What is going to happen there?
***SPOILERS***
I have to say I'm in two minds about the Natsu/Zeref showdown.
For a start I'm happy Zeref wasn't there and that he left again and didn't fight. He just left his pearls of wisdom and fluttered off mysteriously. We know that the Fairies will win, how couldn't we? so we know that this prophecy of Zeref's that either END or Natsu will win and whoever does gets to meet Zeref in person probably means the inevitable that Natsu will beat END.
A little predictable in general I'd say, it would be nice if someone else won.
I foresaw this arc being a giant one full of world destruction and darkness for the Fairies. Right now I don't see it going that way, I see it ending quite abruptly in a small while. After all right now we have Erza still fighting Kyouka and Mira is now fighting Sayla with Elfman on the way and Lisanna with her, Lucy, Wendy, Happy and Carla are face to face with Keith (what a wonderful name for a Demon!) with Franmalth hiding in his corner.
Right now the Demons don't look quite so... Intimidating really.
There were too many beginnings and so much telling us this is the scary guild we should all be afraid of. Unfortunately so far they've blown our minds with some of their acts but when it comes to actually facing them they haven't been all that.... Scary. Tough. Powerful. Intelligent.....
Then again I really don't know where this is going at all so I'm not going to say much more on that subject today.
The chapter was a fun one and kept the tension throughout really well. I loved that Kyouka can't be kept down and her and Erza are going to fight it out.
Mira's face at the thought of what Sayla had done to her siblings was amazing, does Sayla really not realize she's facing a Demon herself?!?
But I think Keith (OMG KEITH!!!) was (apart from the name) the best part of the chapter.
No really. I mean it.
Taking away his actual name (why call a Demon Keith?!) and calling him by his alias The Dark Priest and that is what he is. In fact this is what he says (and it sent shivers down my spine!) :
"Is the obscure prayer of the maiden..... The ring of a bell resounding in hell? The shining Demon Glean..... Is the breath of Lucifer that will restore the land. Fairy Maidens who fell to Hades. Turn to corpses and roam in Purgatory."I mean that is just amazing! He looks intimidating, he sounds it and lets hope he doesn't just turn into a joke. I might refuse to call him Keith because other then Silver and Kyouka (and to some extent Tempesta) he's the only one that so far has been anywhere near as scary as you'd think the Nine Demon Gates should be!
STILL waiting for all the other Guilds to pop up and help with the fight. GIVE ME ICHIYA!!! GIVE ME ICHIYA!!! GIVE ME ICHIYA!!!!
Another week to wait. Bad times people! Bad times! But hopefully I should have some more Fairy Tail goodness coming your way during March gearing up for THE RETURN OF THE ANIME!!! WOOOHOOOO ANIME RETURNS!!!!
