Uchouten Kazoku : Bathhouse Rules

Episode 7

The most important thing we learnt last week was that Benten cries.

Actually we knew that already, Froggie bro already told us that. But still, we saw it for ourselves. She isn't quite as bad as she lets on.

What will we learn this week?!

***SPOILERS***

So Benten and Yasaburo are together for some reason and Yasaburo is telling us about the tanuki blood line. Also explaining why they don't just have disagreements but complete feuds.

His little brother is having problems with the professor who doesn't want to take his bath. What is it he is spraying? Yaichiro is outside waiting to take the professor to his bath. It takes three tanuki to bath one tengu? Who then walks into the womens dressing room... As only the professor could.

When they get him in the bath he doesn't want to leave it. Typical!

Suddenly the Ebisugawa Elite Guard show up, this gives Yaichiro a moment to moan about no one helping him but he's inturrepted by the idiot twins who come to tell him to surrender his run for Nice-emon. After their babbling they get thrown in the baths. Turns out they found out that Yajiro (Frog Bro) had been out drinking with their father the night he was caught and eaten in a hot pot. Is that why he won't change back into a... Well anything?

So at the well.... Yajiro admits that he was with their father that night and had left him drunk and came home...

I loved the comparison of Yasaburo and Yaichiro finding out from Yajiro that what the idiots said was true. Yaichiro seemed to have a total emotional breakdown whilst Yasaburo kind of just become thoughtful...

I quite like having an episode about the brothers, it was nice to have a change of pace. Benten is a very slow moving mystery where you peak under layers of the character, Yaichiro, Yajiro and the youngest one (can't remember his name) are very open with their characters and sweet when they are together. Like a real family I guess.

The family feud stuff is pretty interesting and I can see that it'll probably end with them choosing the new whatever it is, I can't really see Yaichiro winning it and will be disappointed if Yasaburo wins it (is he even allowed to enter for it?)

The big positive of this series is basically that each and every episode is pretty simple and sweet. I love the relationships everyone has and the slow drip feed on the past of these characters and how they all kind of join in their stories.

It is another episode that you can just sit and watch no matter what other episodes you've seen, you'll fall in love with the series easy enough purely because the characters are so nice and easily lovable.

I find it difficult to explain just what I love at the end of every episode but it feels me with a warm happy feeling every week. Really enjoy it!

Big plus for the episode is that it even made the idiot twins bearable! Before hand they were both pains in the backside to just sit and watch. I know you are meant to dislike them but they shouldn't make the show unwatchable!
