Uchouten Kazoku : Yakushibo's Inner Parlor

Episode 3

So this lovely little anime is growing in cast size! We've now been formally introduced to three brothers, a mother and his professor and we've found out his father was eaten in a hot pot!

What next for (wait for it...) Yasaburo!

***SPOILERS***

It is nearly Obon and mother wants to know if Yaichiro is making arrangements for them to go away on a leisure cruise. Tanuki apparently take to the sky in boats during the festival, that is what they are talking about. See the series is just... Sweet!

Yaichiro messed up and asks Yasaburo for help, after being forced to help (to be fair Yaichiro was going to beg for help but someone stopped that happening) he goes to talk to his froggy brother. Turns out that Yasaburo is going to marry Kaisei because his father had made the match before he died, turns out that he father has broken it up (and the someone stopping him from making his brother beg was his mother.) Ohh the professors lady friend is Benten.

Yes they visit the professor and... Upset him more than his friend does when talking about his mountain.

Off they go to see Benten about the leisure cruiser that the professor lent her. Benten seems to be... I don't know but there is a clock tower half underwater, she's been bribed by the brothers from last episode not to give them the "Inner Parlor" and they've got to give her a reason why she should give it to them. She shows them how she controls the weather which is pretty cool. For no reason she decides to give them the "Inner Parlor" and then a whale turns up so she goes to tug its tail (naked) (I don't know why I added that she ended up naked but I thought it was an important point) (I guess this is anime... It got a little.... Weird.... VERY weird...)

The floating "Inner Parlor" which is like a mini-flying tea house is beautiful I have to give them that.

I guess this is the strength of the series it is just beautiful. It has a lovely style but most importantly lovely characters. Within the first episode I kind of cared for the ones we'd met and now we've met more and I love the ones we know so much. Even froggie down his well!

You just want things to go right for them, you can see that they are just trying to get on after losing their father. It is just human drama with the change that it isn't humans we're following (well Benten is a human but never mind that) and they tend to be doing crazy mad things.

The episode was neither here nor there it was just a nice little episode with a nice little plot. Nothing too much. Building up for the next episode really is all I can say.

I do like the series and think the crazy mad things are starting to make more sense the more I understand it all, to be fair I will need to rewatch the episodes because they probably weren't as confusing as I first thought (I say this as if it was more than just the first episode, but no it was only the first episode!)

I can't wait for the next episode which is pretty much the second half of this one.

Still it is nice now to have all the main characters names, and also to have seen Benten being a little nicer to people for a change!
