Fairy Tail : A drop of time

Chapter 339

The last chapter (about 5 minutes before this one) saw our heroes celebrating in a grand way and moving on into their futures...

Will we get more celebrations?

***SPOILERS***

Jellal and Meredy are looking for Ultear, they notice that some things have changed but the memories and destruction of the city still remain. Jellal points out that the black magic the Royal Family used is now known to the Councillors and just as he says that Doranbolt appears in front of them.

It seems that the Councillors have had their memories wiped, in fact everyone has (I did wonder what the towns people meant when they said a Dragon visited the castle) Doranbolt seems to have done the right thing by the Royal Family. Doranbolt pretends like he never saw them and begins to walk away before the question I was going to ask came about. What about Cobra?

A man of his word he came back to his cell.... A chilling message to Doranbolt "The door to Hades will open. So don't mess with my memories until then" what the hell does that mean?! Tartaros, part of the Baram Alliance with Grimoir and Oracion.

Just as they are leaving wondering whether Tartaros will make a move a lady shows up with a letter from Ultear. She wanted to say goodbye as her life is hanging by a thread. She reminds them that Crime Sorciere was to never forget their sins but to work for the day their sins will be forgiven and that the war is only beginning and until Zeref is defeated they can't give up.... Was that old lady Ultear?

In a wagon heading out of Crocus is  the Fairy Tail guys (Team Natsu at least) when Gray looks out and see's the old women and realizes that it is Ultear and she gave her time to save them all. The crying Gray makes up for the fact I hated the reset button.

What a bloody sad chapter! (in a good way people, in a good way!)

I know someone who hates Jellal so this chapter will be poison to them but personally I think it is the saddest thing ever because no matter how annoying Jellal can be they all fought too. OK no one will remember other than the mages or whoever Doranbolt didn't memory wipe but even if they were all allowed to remember the events then the horrible thing is the part that Jellal, Meredy and Ultear played would never have been remembered and Ultear did give her life for others.

I know I dislike Ultear... Well not dislike just indifferent to her, Jellal I get because there was SUCH a story behind him but Ultears change of mind never interested me, it felt forced because she was impossible to beat. Her death was the only characters that to be honest didn't bloody bother me though it was the only one we were guaranteed would come after her 1 minute saving bit. This chapter when I relive this arc makes up for it.

So we now know one thing that will be happening in the future Tartaros is going to come into play, is Cobra still on their side or is he on our side?

Doranbolt is a brilliant character I do love him to bits! The fact he's wiped even his best friends memory to save the Royal Family is brilliant.

Another fine chapter and to be fair the last two have made up for any misgivings I had about the arc itself. Gray's face though... Heartbreaking!
