Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W : Attack on Evil Deity

So we are on to the second series. Welcome to anyone just joining my Nyaruko-san blogs! You won't find it hard to find the others as they are spread over the last two weeks!

What has this series got to hold for our group of aliens and their love interest Mahiro?!

We'll find out!

***SPOILERS***

So we start off with Nyaruko on a broom stick? Is it Nyaruko?

A reintroduction to the characters in a bit of a bewitched style. Kinda cute and funny. Then starts the wonderful intro theme just Mahiro cuts in. HOW DARE YOU MAHIRO-SAN WHO BLOODY DARE YOU!

Another breaking of the fourth wall moment. Nothing has changed they are all as silly as before. Oh how I've missed them (well kind of if I didn't just marathon the first series).

There is a little bit more background on Nyartholteps in a bit of an information dump before all the pregnant/baby jokes come on.

The new theme... Not as good as the old one but still brilliant, this series is seriously like junk food! So good yet so bad for you. The first real in depth talk about Lovecraft which was pretty cool. And suddenly the deities have more power than before, they change by magic... More fourth wall breaking about the budget.

"Do not underestimate the fork. The fork is the strongest weapon in the universe."

Yes the fork! It keeps them all under control in the end.

The poor suffering teacher is totally ignoring the randomness that is going on, it is just a little put on though and in your face. It'll move on for about 2 minutes then go right back to the exact same bloody thing!

Oh and before they got to school (just after the fork thing) Nyaruko got a message about another alien entering Earth or something (went by too fast can't rewind at the moment).

But yes after Tamao tells Nyaruko to get Mahiro alone she gets him inside a locker. Yes a locker. So shut up in the locker, in the girls locker room Nyaruko goes in for a kiss.... And Mahiro is suddenly saved by Kuko and Hasuta.

For some reason Kuko has been promised Nyaruko AND Mahiro's first time. God only knows why!

And they end up in an manga shop like they did in the first episode of last series. Whilst there they find a Mahiro manga book, yes that is right, the reason Kuko keeps going on about Mahiro is because he is now a famous face and all aliens love him. Don't ask for details they aren't there, and the illegal alien that entered the planet? Probably this one at the cosplay cafe who wrote the book on him. She has really cool pinkish/purple hair!

There is a rock-paper-scissors tournament which Kuko and Nyaruko get to the final of and then they start fighting. The new girl falls into the middle of the fight and blows them both away. And yes that was it for the big text message thing, the accidental attacking of the poor person meant that the illegal alien was dealt with. By accident.

Oh no, whats wrong?! Nyaruko got a phone call and it doesn't look good....

Well that'll be for next week!

Feelings on this episode?

It did what Nyaruko does best, it was confusing, had no real plot, jumped from place to place, had the whole love story background going on... Yeah.

It was 20 odd minutes of hilarity and good fashioned fun!

Sometimes I had no idea what was happening it was happening so fast and seemed to have little baring on anything important. Silly jokes suddenly became semi-important in a semi-important story in the background that to be honest you'd have missed through all the pregnant/sex jokes going on.

Still it was a great episode, better then most of last series and I loved most of last series. It looks like we'll get something more along the lines of a story next week, this episode seems more an introduction to the second series and showing us that the characters haven't changed one bit.

Oh and Ghutatan isn't with them *cries* .

Kuko I found odd, she seems to have something for Mahiro this series, she did explain it was basically a fad but it takes away from her character. She wasn't quite so.... I don't know how to word it. Not quite so uninterested in everything acting a lot more like a tamer version of Nyaruko (somewhere between Nyaruko and Hasuta) instead of her usual self on her computer game ignoring the bunch of them and only pipping in when she has something interesting to say.

Other than that the rest were pitch perfect from last series. Especially Mahiro.

I'd like to see even more of Tamao and Yoichi with Mahiro, maybe a alien-lite episode (hey they have Doctor-lite episodes in Doctor Who so why not?!) it could be a real easy way to really show how Mahiro feels without it being like the last episode of last series were he needed them back.

Really enjoyed it and looking forward to seeing who was on the phone to Nyaruko!

And am I the only person that wants Nyaruko's brother to show up again? The bring back Nyaruo campaign starts here. "WE WANT NYARUO!!! WE WANT NYARUO!!!"
