Fairy Tail : The White Knight (Manga)

Chapter 319

In the last chapter Gajeel became the Shadow Iron Dragon slayer to defeat Rogue, Rogue who was possessed by some shadow himself.

What will the outcome of the fight be? Who will take the points in the Grand Magic Games?

***SPOILERS***

So this week they actually started with Gajeel and Rogue, Gajeel's Shadow Iron Dragon form is really quite cool and it did the job. Being able to merge with the shadows meant that when Rogue went into shadow form Gajeel could not only follow but pull him out too.

Using Iron Shadow Dragon Roar Gajeel defeats Rogue, and as Rogue wakes up the shadow that had possessed him leaves.

Again a certain Exceel had me in tears. Fro stood over Rogue to stop Gajeel hurting him anymore, but as the match was over Gajeel was never going to hurt him.

After Fairy Tail get their point we flash back to the castle, Team Natsu are having problems and the Kings Executioners (or whatever they are called) are back.

Because I didn't cover them, they were just before I started reviewing, a quick set up. Team Natsu went to save Lucy who was in prison in the castle. The Princess sent them down to the dungeons were a bunch of wizards work as the kingdoms executioners  Obviously our heroes fought them and won. That is basic view on what happened as I don't really want to go into detail at the moment about it (half because I can't remember it well seeing it was the beginning of December this all happened!)

We then find out were Arcadios went. He's suited up in his battle armor and is off to face the Princess. He believes future Lucy so there is only one other person who could be lying and that is the Princess.

So what does the Princess really want Eclipse for?

And what was the shadow that had possessed Rogue? Not even Mavis was sure.

This chapter really was quite interesting, so many mysteries surrounding the whole arc still to be answered.

I'll start off with the fact that again they've made sure that Gajeel doesn't look weaker then Natsu, I find this important as even though I know Natsu is the main character along with Lucy I'm one of the fans that would fight hard to have every member of Fairy Tail the main character. The thing is other then his pig headedness Natsu didn't grow up any differently to Gajeel and they have the same thirst to be strong so I don't know why people want Natsu to be superman and the other Dragon Slayers to be weaker. Yes Natsu wins a lot but that is because of his heart, he is the one put into these position as he is the hero, along with Lucy, but all of Fairy Tail are strong. If Natsu suddenly became the strongest it would lose something, and giving him an extra ability (being able to eat Lightning and therefore become the Lightning Flame Dragon Slayer) would lose a little something.

I've always liked that Erza and Laxus were stronger then the rest but needed help and advice like everyone else. Having the guild at so many different levels but still relaying on each other, the weakest member being needed by the strongest and vice a versa, was what made Blue Pegasus and Fairy Tail so brilliant.

It'll also be interesting to see if Second Generation Dragon Slayers can do it and what Wendy and Laxus could end up becoming.

And to be honest the Shadow Iron Dragon Slayer is AWESOME! It is just right for him! I think they have made sure that each character has magic that matches them.

Secondly will someone please save me from Fro? Again he's made me blub like a baby being brave enough to stand in front of Rogue to stop someone hurting him. He is such a sweet little thing and helps remind you that all these people, no matter who obsessed with power they are and no matter what their circumstances have people who not only depend on them but love them too. God dammit Fro you are just so cute!

I'm really interested in finding out about the shadow that possessed Rogue though. To be honest I didn't think they'd add any other elements to the arc as it is getting full as it is, but its a new twist and I'm starting to wonder if it has anything to do with Zeref or Raven Tail.

As for Team Natsu I'm not really interested in them having another battle, I really wish something more interesting would happen for them. They've just been fighting, their last big fight is now repeating. I'm more interested in Arcadios and what he'll find out with the Princess.

The thing is there are so many elements to this arc that adding more and more fighting isn't helping. The Grand Magic Games is in the everyone fighting everyone else stage you really want Team Natsu to be progressing the story arc not going back to fight people they've already fought. Saying that who knows what'll happen in the next chapter!

As for the Princess it makes sense. I said that it wouldn't make sense if Lucy wasn't telling the truth or if it wasn't a real Lucy as Natsu would have known, and I guess the ambush showed that Lucy is playing out what Lucy believes needs to happen.

So are the Dragons coming? What is actually happening.

I guess I was moaning about Team Natsu not forwarding the arc but to be honest it has left me totally intrigued! I haven't bothered reading any fan speculation on it and at the moment am actually quite puzzled at what is going to happen.

Can't wait for next week now.
