Episode 170
So last week ended with Cheria* getting up from Wendy's toughest move. What will happen next in the match against the air Dragon Slayer and air God Slayer?
*Just so you know the manga translation I read AND the anime translation both spell this different. One spells it Shelia, the other Cheria. I looked it up on Fairy Tail wiki and they spell it Chelia. I'm calling her Cheria as that is what the translated anime called her. If anyone can tell me the correct translation I'd be grateful!
***SPOILERS****
So we start off with Happy, Carla and Lily giving us a break down of what has happened so far. Funny fact, in the subbed version I was watching Lily said that Ivan was Laxus's son...
After that we get back to Wendy and Cheria, after Cheria gets back up she heals herself and asks Wendy if she is going to give up. Wendy, being part of Fairy Tail, won't so Cheria decides to use her most powerful spell, secret God Slayer magic. Apparently according to Lyon and Jura it could kill Wendy, thankfully Wendy is super smart and replenishes Cheria's magic therefore overpowering her move and making her miss.
It is a good thing Wendy is brainy!
After that it comes to a fight of, as the title says, tiny fists.
The clock dings and we have a draw!
After that they basically go ahead with the discovery of Jellal, Doranbolt knows enough information to know Mystogan is stuck in Edolas so confronts him, pulling off his mask in front of Lahar. Yajima "convinces" Lahar that it really is Mystogan but not before Kagura and Milliana have seen him. Lahar and Doranbolt know it is really Jellal, and Kagura and Milliana never heard the excuse so know its him too. The most wanted man on Earth is now located, how will everyone react?
We also have the first meeting of Laxus and Makarov since his fight with his dad. Obviously Laxus is keen to know what Lumen Historie is, but understands when Mavis tells him he can't know.
It also leaves us with the wonderful scene of Makarov and Laxus not knowing how to stop a crying Mavis. How cute is Mavis?
So this week?
I have to say that I love Laxus and his Gramps together, they need to have more of that in the series in general. Maybe after this arc we'll see more of them together. It is a nice dynamic. And them babysitting Mavis is funny!
Wendy is still so adorable, her and Cheria being friends now is brilliant and I do hope that they stick together and we get some stories about them in both the anime and the manga.
Their fight was a highlight so far as they are both very friendly characters and quite young, their magic is more a supportive magic then anything, but they fought hard and passionately and to be honest a draw was the only fair outcome! It showed how strong Wendy is, and we can't write her off become just as strong (and maybe a lot more sensible) then both Gajeel and Natsu. They all have their weaknesses and strengths but it is now obvious that their shared strength is passion (as it is with all of Fairy Tail.)
I'm growing so found of Jura, even though he has hardly done anything, he just seems so friendly and down to earth for someone who is so strong. But you can see him being a good role model and mentor to all in Lamia Scale, maybe a job for Laxus in Fairy Tail (I mean Erza is too much part of the group, Mira isn't steady enough, Guildarts is Guildarts the only other S-Class wizard is Laxus. The older ones are always portrayed as drunk, so again Laxus.........)
The one great thing (and I've said it before) about this arc is that it has introduced us to so many different characters and given us more time with some of our old favorites.
