Fairy Tail : Grudges are wrapped in the Silence of the Night (Anime)

Episode 165
This episode carries on after the events of day 2 of the Grand Magic Tournament.

Whilst Erza catches up with Milliana, the rest of the team (other than Gray who is out with Juvia and Lyon) get an unexpected guest. We also see the brutality within the Sabretooth guild.

***SPOILERS***

We open up with Mato getting us up to date with how things stand, he is interrupted by Fro and Lector and later Mermaid Heels Risley. It is a fun way to open the episode and gives us a reminder of the game standings.

This episode was an emotional one for the characters, you have Yukino being thrown out of Sabre in the most embarrasing of ways, being made to strip in front of everyone and being told to remove her mark. Also Milliana talking to Erza about Kagura and telling Erza how much she and Kagura hate Jellal. Yukino also tries to give her spirits away to Lucy and after leaving the hotel breaks down and tells Natsu exactly what happened to her earlier that night.

But by far the most upsetting moment for me was when Fro turned to Rogue after Yukino had been kicked out of the guild and after hearing Sting and Lector talk about how Sabre is only for the strong and the weak should not be allowed in and asking him all teary eyed if he'd have to leave as he was weak.

I think with the braveness of Happy, the hardness of Carla and the brute strength of Lily, you forget just how harmless and innocent the Excel race is. With the exception of Lily (and maybe a few others) they aren't fighters, and Fro seems to be a very young as well. At times I find Sting and Lector very annoying as characters, though I understand why they are the way they are (mainly thanks to the manga), but this is the first time Rogue and Fro have actually really communicated more then just to agree/disagree with Sting and Lector. I also felt it was also the first real sign that Sting and Rogue have the same relationship with their Excel as the Fairy Tail Dragon Slayers do. Something you might not have guessed before hand.

As for the sheer brutality of Sabretooth, maybe not physically at this moment, but mentally towards the weaker members of the guild, it is such a stark contrast to Fairy Tail, the only guild we've seen in depth really until now, were the worst you get is being told off and expelled and even then that was only in extreme cases. I mean Luxus did more then just fight with his guild, hence his expulsion but not the rest of the Raijinshu, who might have gone along with him but just fought for him.

It was an episode to move on the plot, introduce character development and back stories. Not really any action until the end when Natsu goes to confront the master of Sabre, but a lot of heart and a lot of sweet moments, even if the over whelming tone was a sad one.

And I have to say that Erza looked beautiful in this episode!

And you just want to shake Gray and make him make his mind up. To be honest I'd much rather Juvia went off with Lyon, I know Gray is fighting for her to stay in Fairy Tail, but he still has shown little interest in her other than to beat Lyon. Juvia deserves the devotion that Lyon is giving her, whilst at the same time I'd think it would change Gray too much to have him suddenly fall in love with Juvia and be all mushy, as cute as Edo Gray was, Earth Gray is cold and sarcastic and Juvia just wouldn't fit a relationship with him. Even if they did get together it would still seem a little mean on her devotion to have Gray look like he begrudged the relationship at times.

I just want more Rogue and Fro scenes.
