Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou : Nothing Ventured, No Dog Gained

Episode 5

So the show down between Madoka and Natsuno! I can't wait to find out what happens next!

***SPOILERS***

She knows where he is because she put a tracking device on him poor doggie! And the ball drops on who Natsuno is, damn author that she is!

I love how Natsuno just calls her Sister because she knows that she hates it. Madoka is smart enough to figure out why it is her brother survived in dog form but it is still weird that she's figured out who he is.

There is a pretty cool moment between the two were Natsuno tells her that her brother died to save her and that she will carry on writing for him and that her readers take away apart of her thoughts so would never be happy with what Madoka is doing.

She then jumps off the balcony. Her basis on him being her brother is purely on him falling into that trap, she thinks she's a terrible sister which is sad she's just grieving losing her brother that is all.

She has a weird ass knife... Why are they fighting when she's realized that what Natsuno said was pretty much true and now doesn't believe the dog is her brother? Anyway it gives us a cool fight sequence! But why her knife is called Tuna Eater I don't know! Of course the scissors win the fight which makes Madoka even sadder but also makes her have to face up to the truth (not that she gives up mind you!)

Tuna Eater turns into a cannon but somehow the scissors save Natsuno, yes it is that type of anime where the scissors are super powered, I mean after all the ending credits does have Natsuno in her pants driving a giant scissor space craft thing!

After the fight they seem to get on well enough. And yeah Madoka is not the slasher after all, she only abducted the dog and cut the books up. So the slasher is still out there somewhere!

So the crazy editor lady understands the doggy! There was never any "slasher" the only "slasher" attack was on Afro by crazy lady who did it to get Natsuno writing.

So she threatens doggie whilst telling him that she'd do anything to get Natsuno out of her slump, thinking she's got away with it she walks off just to be stopped by Natsuno. Yeah her punishment is pretty funny. Including the last part, she'll be nice to her from now on! Totally AWESOME!

Next day and Natsuno is saying goodbye to Madoka, she tells her that she can carry on believing that the dog is her brother and do whatever she wants with him at any time, and she is still calling her her sister-in-law.

That was quite a good ending to that little story! I'm impressed with it to be honest, even though it was a "cop out" answer it was done in such a funny way that I'll forgive it! Brilliant fun.

This series is just brilliant, I can't even find words for how random it is but in such a good way! It has never once been confusing and the stories are pretty self confined.

The best thing is that I still love the main characters and they are both growing with the episodes. They aren't one dimensional characters they have real character which can be lost in anime's like this at times. I know I keep doing it but the anime that I compare it to is Nyaruko-san. The difference being that you never got a proper development (in my opinion of course) of any of the main characters but there would be giant leaps that inevitably never went anywhere and I grew tired of it. I haven't even bothered with the second half of the second season. In this the characters grow every episode, yes alright they are still larger than life and over the top but to be totally honest with you they are just brilliantly fleshed out characters.

I'd like to see what happens next, if they carry on with this type of mystery solving theme or if it goes in a different direction. It would be interesting to carry on the mystery solving theme it could be pretty funny down the line!

As for this episode?

Really strong, good finish to the mini-story there. Loved the fight between the characters, it was eccentric but not too over the top that you sit there rubbing your head in amazement, you giggle then watch and cheer on whoever you are rooting for then they stop and you get a moment where you really start to understand Madoka and her reasons then they carry on with the crazy and ultimately become friends.

As for crazy editor lady, which is now her name as far as I'm concerned, she's pretty much one of my fav characters along with Afro! That look on her face and her stupidity/intelligence combine to make her near on perfect. Ohhh how I love that character!

Another really good episode in what is a very strong season so far!
