Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Idea...

So I've been reading a long and repetitive argument for why the anniversary special shouldn't (or should) include the classic series Doctors. Especially Tom and Colin Baker who have aged quite a lot since they were last seen as the Doctor.

I think there is a way not only to have them in it, but to have them guest star. I have two ideas I'll post one tonight and as long as I get online one tomorrow!

So how to do it?

Doctor Who is about a man traveling around the universe in a blue box.... But what else does the show need?

The Companions!

Now the companions would all age, none of them other then Romana (who could have regenerated) was immortal. They all loved the Doctor just as much as we did, and we have the original companions still alive and with us (other then unfortunately Barbara.)

So why can't we relieve the Doctors through some of his key companions?

For me the special won't be that special if it doesn't have Ian and Susan in it. We can't have Hartnell himself, but we can have his granddaughter and his first companion.

If we find a way to bring back Jamie (2), Jo (3), Leela (4), Teegan (5), Peri (6), Ace (7), whoever it was 8 was with, though I'd prefer his Big Finish companion Lucy Miller, and if they have to be there Martha and Donna, that could work.

Someone kidnaps these companions to attract the Doctor, the Doctor and Clara go and investigate a message left for him seemingly from any of the above, after saving each companion we get flashbacks of some big moment for them, probably how they joined the Doctor or left him, until he reaches Susan and Ian.

When I say have a flashback I mean either have it playing on a TV in show or else have it as they turn away to leave, have them fade after the moment and then they go.

When he gets to Susan and Ian he has got to the center of the trap. The Daleks (preferable) /Cyberman/Sontarans/whatever have a machine that will rip the Doctors regeneration out of him, but as they come they look older. You still have Tennant - T.Baker in the episode coming out in whatever way it is (maybe have them scattered where ever their companion went back to) looking confused with some witty one liner or something, maybe have them fall at their companions feet so that they can all say goodbye, this time the Doctor to his companion. Something will have to happen to stop the machine, that is for someone much more clever to think of, but when the machine stops we go through all the Doctors fading away, and maybe reintroduce the flashbacks. So as Tom Baker smiles and waves goodbye have a flash of him back in the day smiling, as Davison hugs Teegan, have a flashback of him with his cricket ball, whilst Colin effectionatley pats Peri on the head, have a flashback to them walking arm in arm, when McCoy does whatever he does, flashback to him being him and so on and so on even with Eccleston and Tennant.

Then we are left with Susan, Ian, Clara and 11. Have Susan say the words of the fans, how she loves him and never forgot him, even if his face changes she still remembers him and loves everything about him, maybe with a TV and the voice of Hartnell with his speech to Susan in the background. As the episode finishes (The Doctor takes Susan home and gets a glimpse of Adam) we have a small flashback of Hartnell, Barbara, Troughton and Pertwee... Maybe also with Sarah-Jane and the Brig. A reminder of the friends we've already lost, maybe with a speech from Matt.

That way you get all the living Doctors IN the show, you get companions (and that was just off the top of my head list of them), you get a coherent story and you get characters you love saying what you want to, to our friendly alien who has entertained us for 50 years! (At 23 he's been with me my whole life!)

But that is just idea one!
