Episode 4
So last week we learnt all about the Dutybound, Akina is the Dutybound and every Daemon gathers in this city to be "sent home" by him, but his family see it in the same light as murder so he doesn't like to do it and he definitely won't send his friends back. No one knows what awaits on the other side so why would he send his friends there?
A happier ending then we could have hoped for!
***SPOILERS***
Someone isn't happy! He doesn't like that Hime is a mayor and still in high school though he really has a problem with the nine year old that is running against him for mayor, Hime informs him that a spirit has told her that the nine year old will "beat you like a drum." Ohh Hime you don't mince your words do you?!
Mariabelle is the girl with the weird pervy brother it seems. So that is two of the weird siblings named Yae and Mariabelle.
So it is spring time and everyone is in the pool! Well all the girls. Turns out Mina and Kina are half vampire half mermaid, Mina is more mermaid so grows taller.... Plus at least Mina is a girl possibly both of them.
It is all a little crazy to be honest. Hime crying and eating, everyone getting drunk, Kotoha singing German songs.... Good fun!
Yuuhi, that is the last name of the siblings. Wahoo we are there! So Akina is trying to stop the seven pillars from blooming, wonder what will happen if they do bloom, probably nothing good!
Next day and Hime is trainging with Kyousuke. They get a message on a arrow which seems to shock them, the message not how it was delivered. They go by to see the others and before we get an explanation one jumps into the place and knocks out Kyousuke. She's called Kohime and she is the nine year old running for mayor in the next town... She also seems to be Hime's sister. Or maybe her cousin... Cousin it is.
Suddenly whilst they are out and about a misery-guts comes out of his shop and is a total git to Hime for no reason. Whilst they go on about their patrol the mayor that Kohime will be facing is in a car scheming evil things with some evil looking people.
So the seven pillars, Akina's ancestors tuned them into this dimension as well as the Daemons one. If they bloom then the two dimensions will merge and the Daemons will all fall into this dimension.
The doorbell goes and they answer it to find a wall of gloop blocking the door!
Getting exciting now, we have some real plots and some real danger coming to the front of the story. It feels like we are through with getting to know characters and now we'll be focused on the actual threat to characters. Which is nice, I do miss that from episode one and seeing them fighting and all that.
I like the story about the seven pillars and find it interesting that if they bloom then the two dimensions will merge. I think I prefered the story more then finding out what happens if they bloom but we'll see where that all goes, I think that'll be the last part of the story to be told as we have bigger concerns on the horizon already.
That big concern being the mayor that is running against Kohime.
He seems to have two lackeys, or maybe he's the lackey, that are going to go over and above making him mayor of not only his own neighborhood but Hime's as well. They didn't look like nice guys at all I have to say.
It all looks like it is about to get interesting, I loved the whole swimming pool beginning, I'm not usually someone who likes anything when characters get bikini's out, but the whole thing just made me laugh. Loved the boys all getting drunk and Kotoha singing in German.
It did mix that seriousness with a lot of laughs and that is what the show is doing so well, it doesn't just use the darkness and become overbearing it keeps it light so you can still find something to laugh at. It was what Uchouten did so well last season, no matter how much it made me cry (and that bloody well did make me cry!) it also made me laugh not long afterwards. It never depressed me it always ended on a bit of a lighter ending.
My expectations for this series has shot up and I'm interested in knowing if it can reach them.
