Episode 6
We have a new Ultimate! Of course he is very much like Siegfried....... He is another form of Siegfried but I'm interested to know if there is any difference!
***SPOILERS***
So Rei is fighting Watari for the compass, Siegfrieden isn't coming out to play, but he is playing with Ultimate Odin once more. And Watari is beaten once more! So away from Ice Cube.
It turns out that he had Ultimate Siegfried and Ultimate Odin since his first memory, so he doesn't know what he has to do to get Ultimate Siegfrieden to let him use him.
We finally meet the Lord, he gets a report from Zard about the Ultimate being found.
There seems to be a bunch of pirate girls who stole a card from the Lord, but it was all a trap. Their ship is crashing and nearly hits Rei. It crash lands on Ice Cube and Rei and the rest of them go to help them, Eris the Morning Star is apparently the name of the pirate leader, and she seems to recognize April's name. Turns out that she knew their grandpa.
Suddenly Gedam the Gale one of the Seven Generals shows up. Rei takes up the challenge of fighting him for the pirates but he doesn't use any cards until he draws Siegfrieden, which does happen even though he has Siegfried already in his hand.
OK Siegfrieden is quite cool I have to admit it. The minute that Siegfrieden is drawn that is it for Gedam. Turns out that Eris knows Kirigira.
I have to admit I didn't like that he basically forced Siegfrieden out, he didn't seem to want to be drawn but on the point of death even with Siegfried in his hand he wasn't going to fight. It seems a bit... Well odd! Yeah you want to use a card but he still from turn 2 had one of his best cards in his hand and not only nearly lost his ultimate but someone else's freedom.
Yeah I do think there is an element of being too childish in that case. I know it is for children but that just kind of..... Sucked a bit.
Is it me or does Eris look hell of a lot like Himari in Penguindrum? Everything about her just reminded me of Himari.... Which reminds me we never did get to the end of Penguindrum did we?
I liked the episode, not as much as other episodes though, it felt a bit flat and the story was all over the place. The moment I knew this episode wasn't going to be the same great standard was when he went out the air lock and floated in space, it was such a random moment and just felt like something stupid to do to waste time. It also felt like wasting time having him change into his battle gear, we've seen it a million times and it really felt like the whole point of it was basically to waste a few moments here and there so we don't have to fill too much of the episode with meaningful plot.
I like the series but this episode felt really flat, hoping next week it'll be better.
